Ray Ray's Pledge to help stop hot car deaths
Came across this in my newsfeed on FB today. the pledge is to help the communication between parents and teacher/day care providers that parents either call if their child wont be there or the day care provider/teacher calls if they dont make the drop off time to find out where the child is. I signed it, they need 898 more signatures by 7/22.

For us its was always two of us who drop her off (Even now) so we go in and we spend time with her (even in daycare) its a whole ordeal. If we don't do it, it feels like we are missing something. The one missing will call the one who went and ask how drop off went.
It works well for us (not that I've ever forgotten her). we call each other within minutes of normal drop off leaving time. "How'd it go?"
People think we're crazy for spending our time dropping her off and sitting with her at breakfast as a kindergartener but for us its worth it. De-stresses us and makes us focus on why do we all that we do.. for those few minutes every morning with our kiddo. So she can grow up right with all the things we didn't have.

How sad. I do believe this story shows it can happen to many people, maybe not everyone but many people are capable of running on autopilot or being distracted. This poor couple has to live with this grief, so wonderful of them to try to help something good come of this tragedy.

Signed. This happened the day before my DD was born, heart wrenching. How tragic. I still want to see some sort of system where daycares have to call if a child is unexpectedly absent.
