Rash from drooling?
DS has had a red raised rash about the size of a dime near his mouth for 4 days now. I've been applying A&D but that is not helping. He has an app. with the ped at 12:30 so we'll know what it is for sure. I was wondering if anyone had something like this happen? I thought maybe it was just from excessive drooling but after 4 days and not going away I'm wondering if its something else.
ETA: I started to do some google searches and now I'm getting paranoid..

Re: Rash from drooling?
DS had that from spitting up formula constantly when he was newborn.
He gets it on and off recently since starting to teethe and drooling a lot.

Re: Rash from drooling?
It could be impetego. It can actually start from drooling and then when the skin gets raw, bacteria gets introduced.
That being said, My DS had something similar and it turned out to be a mosquito bite.

Re: Rash from drooling?
I just read in What to Expect the First Year that a rash could develop around the chin/neck because of excessive drooling caused by teething.
