Quick question for Family Signs
We are ordering one of those Family Name signs for an engagement gift.
They are buying a house in 2010, but getting married in 2011. I say use 2011 as the year for the sign. DH says 2010 because that's the year they will be moving into the house.

Re: Quick question for Family Signs
I voted 2011.
It's the year their "family" offically starts.

Re: Quick question for Family Signs
I got one for my cousin and his wife and put the year they got married, but they'd been living together for 2 or 3 years before. They love it, said it was their favorite engagement gift.

Re: Quick question for Family Signs
The "Family" starts in 2011, which is on the sign.
If the sign was "Smith's Castle" or something, then that would be the date they bought the house, since "Castle" would be the subject being described

Re: Quick question for Family Signs
2011
It's an engagement gift, which is a celebration of their upcoming nuptials.
If it was a house-warming gift then I would put 2010.
