Quick Question
Hey ladies!
I just went off the pill and DH & I are going to start TTC in 3 months or so (as per my doctor). For any of those who have been on the pill a long time (I've been on almost 10 years), how were you when you went off? Did you have issues again (if you had them before the pill - cramping, nauseous pms, mood swings)? And if you did, is there anything you did to help it?
Thanks!

Quick Question
Hi! I was on BC for about 11 years and have now been off for about 7 months. DH and I will likely start TTC in early 2014. In terms of length and frequency, my period was pretty similar both on and off the pill -- every 27/28 days and lasting 4-5 days. Some changes I have noticed since going off the pill -- heavier flow, stronger cramping, and my skin has reverted back to that of a 14 year old teenager. I've started breaking out quite a bit and unfortunately, most of the meds my dermatologist would like to put me on are not recommended for women who are TTC and/or already pregnant! Also, something worth mentioning -- I started tracking my ovulation and that took a while to get a hang of. I did not ovulate for 2 months (non-consecutive), but from what I hear, that is quite normal -- try not to get freaked out! Good luck!

Quick Question
I have had a very difficult time regulating after going off the pill - granted I've also had 2 early mc's since going off the pill back in March/April (one was that first month off the pill), so I'm sure that those have elongated and exacerbated whatever effects there were from going off the pill. That said, my flow has gone back to exactly what I used to have, but my cramps aren't quite as bad (I used to vomit once a month from the cramps, now they are much less painful). I also started acupuncture this past cycle and I can see it helping already.

Quick Question
Was on the pill for 11 years. My cycle has still been regular once I stopped taking the pill. Cramps are still bad. Only thing that changed is that my face is not as clear as it was when I was on the pill and the length of my period (before and one the pill it lasted 6-7 days now its 4 days max, but my doctor says your period can change every 10 years). Hope this helps, but everyone is different.

Re: Quick Question
I was on the pill for 12 years. Once I came off the pill, I lost about 5 pounds of bloat that week and was noticeably more pleasant (according to my DH ). Had a little more acne than usual on my chest/back, but that was the only negative.

Re: Quick Question
I was on the pill for 4 or 5 years. After about 2/3 cycles my period went back to exactly the way it was before I went on the pill.
I waited about 6 month though, before ttc.

Quick Question
The cramps and immense bleeding are what I'm worried about. I used to get CRAZY mood swings from pms-ing, along with painful cramps and bleeding for nearly a week and a half at a time. I seriously don't want to go back to that at all lol. I never had bad skin, so I'm not worried about the acne (watch now that will become a problem haha).
My doctor said 3 months will be fine as long as I'm taking prenatal vitamins (which I am). I'm just worried about making it through these periods before getting pregnant, ugh.

Re: Quick Question
I had issues on it that got so bad I did something your not supposed to do and quit mid cycle.
I got a tad moody but any other side effects of going off we're not as bad as what the pill was doing to me.
