Questions about Sesame Place

DS will be about 20 months this summer, and we were thinking about planning a trip with friends who have kids who will be 13 months and 18 months then. Are those ages ok, or too young?
Can we do it in a day, or should we plan to spend more than one day?
what are some suggesitons on places to stay?

Re: Questions about Sesame Place

Personally, I hated Sesame Place. We took DD at 4 yrs old and I can not imagine doing that trip with a child that was 13 or 18 months. We stayed overnight. We will never go back with DD#2. I thought it was dirty and I was totally skeeved by the whole place and most of the people. I went with 3 other families and we all disliked it.

We took Nicholas 8 years ago and that was pretty much my opinion on it. I thought maybe I was being too picky since everyone raves about it. I think we might try it again this year since DD loves Elmo.

Re: Questions about Sesame Place

I am really itching to take DD. She will be two in March. Ironically, I am in that area often as my in-laws live there.

I would not do it in a day. It's really not all that close. I have stayed at the Red Roof, the Holiday Inn Express and the Courtyard Marriot. All are very nice, clean, good service. However, the Red Roof is a little cramped- it served DH and I fine, but it was tight the one time we stayed there with DD. The Courtyard Marriot and HIE both have pull-out couch beds and nice sized rooms, though b'fast is not included at the CM.

Feel free to FM me if you want to know anything else about the area- I am there fairly often.

I went with my cousins about 6-7 years ago and HAted IT - i though it was dirty and a waster of time.

My friend convinced me to give it another try and we took DS this year and loved it. MUCH cleaner than I remember!

We went when DD was 15 months and my niece was 6 months. It was perfect ages. Plenty for them to do. Personally, with kids that young, we were able to do it in a day, but if you had older kids, you may want to spend a second day there.

Just to cover themselves I'm sure all the rides say no PG. If it says it on carnival type rides I'm sure they will say it at Sesame Place. Keep in mind that there's mostly water rides there
