Re: questions about Mystic CT
We went last summer. We stayed here: Mermaid Inn We loved it. If you like b and bs, it's nice and the breakfast is delish!!! When you leave, the owner packs up cookies and apples for you. Chocolates, brandy and sodas are in the room. Breakfast is multiple home made courses and she goes over the menu for you when you book. For activities, one day we ate at Mystic Pizza and took a boat cruise. The other day we spent the whole day at the aquarium. We went to Foxwoods at night and saw the Legends show. Have fun!

Re: questions about Mystic CT
DH took me for my birthday a few years back and we stayed at the Hyatt Place. Not sure about the cost since DH paid, but it was a really nice hotel and conveniently located.
My bday happens to be the day after St. Paddy's day, so we went to the parade one day, which went down "main street" and ended up at a beer garden party. Unexpected and alot of fun!
We also went to the aquarium and Mystic Village, which is all these cute little shops. And then we went to Foxwoods one day.
In Mystic we ate a restaurant called the Daniel Packer Inn and it was really good.

Re: questions about Mystic CT
I spent one night at a Comfort inn on a business trip..which was ick..and another night at ... Hmm..Something whirlpoo suites? Not galmorous, but free limo to Foxwoods and BBQ and breakfast. Oh I also stayed at a Marriot Residence Inn which was very nice.
I like the seaport. Ye Olde Mistick VIllage is pretty kitcky and inautehntic, but you can get good fudge. I liked Essex on the way out to Mystic a bit better and they have an AWESOME sunset cruise. In Essex we ate at a historic Inn (Groton Inn? maybe..I can look it up if you want to know)... it was AMAZING
In Mystic we always try to get an outdoor table at S&P Oyster Co. Very cute, great food, on teh water and you can watch the drawbridge go up and down.
