Questions about EI (speech therapy)...can anyone answer a few

My ped. recommended that our DD be evaluated for speech. She understand everything just doesn't talk as much as she should. Here are my questions...

1. What happens after you call and make the appt? What do they do at the evaluation for your child?

2. What if your child doesn?t take well to strangers. How do they get an accurate idea of where they are?

3. Has anyone ever used

M Salomon and Kids Therapy are both good. Never heard of LI infant./

I am going to assume your DD is under 2 years of age...

1. What happens after you call and make the appt?

they contact your county's dept of health and your assigned a service coordinator, she will then set up an appointment for an evaluator

What do they do at the evaluation for your child?

w/ DS the evaluation was in the form of play. (DS was also 15 months)

they know what to look for... don't ask me how.. but they see things we as parents usually don't see
