Questions about contractions.
With my DS my water broke first then the contractions came. So I was admitted right away.
But now im 38w4d ( I think ) and I have been having contractions ALL night. From 1am-4am they were 8-10 minutes apart and now there all over the place. 12m, 5m, 17, 25m. My Dr office opens at 8am, so I figured Id call and get an appt. But is the usually pattern to be admitted every 3-5 minutes.

Re: Questions about contractions.
If you're concerned, call your doc. But. When I was in labor with DD, I wasn't sent to the hospital when they were regularly 3 mins apart, lasting for a minute. I got there at 3 cms and they made me walk the halls. No fun. IMO stay home until they're a little more regular.

Re: Questions about contractions.
As the pp said, I wouldn't be rushing to the hospital early on unless you have a specific reason to. I'd rather hang out at home until things are moving along well. I would be really frustrated if they just sent me home. That said, there's no harm in calling your doctor's office just to get their recommendation. Good luck!

Questions about contractions.
I didn't go to the hospital with DD until contractions were about 5 m apart lasting 45 seconds and I had my bloody show. It was the blood that made me want to go to the hospital because it was scary to me. I had only been in labor for 3 hours but when I got to the hospital I was already 5 cm and 9 cm an hour later. My OB had to break my water at 10 cm when it was time to push.
I don't want to get to the hospital too early this time either but I'm scared of things progressing too quickly. It's such a hard decision to make! If they're starting and stopping or changing that much, though, it sounds like it's not quite time. But I'd definitely call.
