Question, what do I do?? update

I have an appt. with the gyno today for my annual exam, and guess what my period decides to show up on CD 41!!! It normallt starts as spotting, but it is here full force! Should I call and cancell? Or just go?? I also wanted to talk about what my next steps are, since we have been ttc for almost a year now.

I am so mad right now i could scream, I called to tell them that I got my period, and that I still wanted to talk to the dr. about ttc, since it has been a year, well apparently that is a seperate appt!!! So now I have a "consult appt." July 2nd, and then have to go back July 25th for my annual!!! I am in tears right now...Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Question, what do I do??

I would call and tell them you want to come in regardless and talk about TTC and tell them you want CD 3 bloodwork which will be Friday.

Also tell them that you have been trying for a year.

For me I had to wait for AF to do all the tests...CD 3 bloodwork, HSG after AF, sonogram in the middle of my cycle. Since you have your AF now I wouldn't waste time and start doing all of the tests, instead of waiting for next cycle.

If they will not see you until July, maybe you should make an appointment with an RE. They will probably get you in quicker and be able to give you more appropriate advice. I don't want to scare you but if you have been trying for a year with OPKs and charting there is probably something that needs to be fixed. An RE is the best person to handle the testing and treatment. I don't believe most traditional OB's are equipped

ETA: They say wait until July then you will have to wait for your next xcyxle to do testing which could put you trying in Sept or Oct-that is a LONG time

I agree. My best friends mother experienced infertility probs years ago and her advice to me was that if I had any trouble TTC to go straight to a RE. She said they will be much more sensitive to your probs and be able to help you much better than a regular OB. Good luck!!!!

Re: Question, what do I do?? update

ITA with the girls above....I stayed with my OB (for now) because she was very understanding and she immediately sent me for all the tests I mentioned above...even though I went in with all my requests to do the exams she suggested them before I even mentioned them.

We are also on the fence whether I would take further steps for ex: medication, IUI, IVF to have a baby.

With that said....I would see a RE if I felt that my doctor was not taking it as serious as I am.
