Question regarding dropping bottle and not liking milk...

My DS wont drink milk from a cup - he spits it right out as if he doesnt like the taste but he will drink it from the bottle I give him calcium foods during the day and 1 9oz bottle of milk at night. He is 17m so i really want to stop giving him a bottle but it means he wouldnt be drinking milk at all.

I know that if he gets enough calcium it isnt necessary for him to drink milk but it really bothers me and dh if he doesnt like milk and want to at least try to get him to drink it. I have tried flavoring it with fruit (banana and strawberry) but he still didnt like it. I really dont want to use chocolate because we dont give him alot of sugar - especially at night.

Does anyone have any suggestions of things that worked for them?

And what do you do as a night time routine once you stop giving a bottle? Do you give any kind of snack before bed I feel like the milk is a snack and if we drop it he might be hungrier.

Well you said he does like milk, obviously he doesn't want to drink it from a cup, which I don't think is that unusual.

I say offer milk in a cup, if it's important to you to do that. But if you're confident he's getting enough calcium and fat in his diet, don't stress it.

If you're worried that he'll be hungry because he doesn't get a bottle at night, encourage him to eat more at dinner. He'll get used to not having that to fill his tummy.

As for the bedtime routine, we kept ours the same, except for that one part. She still got a bath, brushed her teeth and got stories, hugs and kisses.
