Question re: pumped milk and feeding
I am full of questions tonight!!! I EBF my DD but give her bottles occasionally so i can run errands and give my boobies a rest.
The past two nights i defrosted pumped BM so my DH can feed her....and she is refusing to drink it. It doesn't look like its bad....it doesn't smell bad or anything...she just plays with the nipple and does not drink and ounce. WHAT A WASTE!!!! But she's def hungry because as soon as I give her my breast she goes crazy.
Any ideas on how to get her to drink out of a bottle again? any tricks? I need to be able to leave her every now and then and not worry about rushing back to feed her. Eventually i want her to be able to have sleepovers at her grandparents so DH and I can go out or whatever!
I am afraid that I have created a boob loving monster!!!

Re: Question re: pumped milk and feeding
Is it possible she doesn't like the nipple of the bottle? Maybe try a new kind of bottle? I EBF my little girl too and give her pumped milk with the Born Free bottles. She seems to like that nipple. I can't think of anything else. Good luck!

Re: Question re: pumped milk and feeding
Is she getting some drops on her tongue? When DH gives it to her, I tell him to put some drops on her tongue so she knows it is milk and not a pacifier.

Re: Question re: pumped milk and feeding
she just might not like the taste of the defrosted milk, my son was that way... what I did I mixed fresh pumped milk with the defrosted one cause I just didnt want all the milk to go to waste....

Re: Question re: pumped milk and feeding
You need to give her bottles every day. I was BFing and giving bottles for the first 2 months. I took a couple of weeks off from pumping, and low and behold, DD would not take the bottle. I had to start all over again.
It's either all or nothing. You have to be consistant, unfortunately.

Re: Question re: pumped milk and feeding
Were you in the room when she had the bottle? Some babies will refuse a bottle when they can see and/or smell their mother. Did you warm it up enough? I also agree with PPs about trying other bottles.
