question from a newbie
hey ladies...i just read maybeamommy's tutorial (thanks for writing that!!) and I'm a little confused. i feel like i should have paid more attention in health class all those years ago. this is my first month off the pill (would have started a new pill today). im using this month to track my cycle. today is CD7 (according to mymonthlycycles.com) when I get to CD14 I should be ovulating. when is ovualtion over and i enter 2WW? am i making sense or am i just confusing myself? thanks!

Re: question from a newbie
Hey Diana! Good to see you in these parts!
Mymonthlycycles is just taking a guess at when you might ovulate. It really won't be able to predict it perfectly. That's where Ovulation Predictor Kits and Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitors come in! If you're regular, it's a good guestimate though. I think the best indicator is EWCM (check out maybeamommy's post for more on that).
Your two week wait are your days post ovulation. If you look in mymonthlycycles, when you're on the Ovulation Calendar, it will tell you your more fertile, most fertile days. Once it says "OV" the very next day will be your first day of your 2 week wait. We call that 1DPO (days post ovulation).
Good luck hon!! HTH

Well OPKs aren't always 100% necessary, they just help alot to pinpoint ovulation.
EWCM is egg white cervical mucus...it usually appears close to Ovulation. So when you see it -sometimes on toilet paper when you wipe or in your underwear - when you see that, BD to your heart's content! That means ovulation is on its way in a day or two. You probably have seen it in the past but thought nothing of it!

Re: question from a newbie
Since this is your first month off the pill, your cycles could be out of whack. If you ovulate, it could be much later than CD14. There's no way to predict how your body will adust to going off the pill. You may want to use OPKs and/or temping. Good luck!
