Question for you ladies

DH and I finally decided to TTC because we are finally financially secure, have been married almost two years and most importantly are ready. Well we now find out that there are a bunch of events (weddings, etc) next year that we will be invited to or asked to be a part of. I don't want to disappoint a friend by not being in thier wedding but if I do get pregnant for many reasons I will not be able to (I would of course still attend). I don't want to wait another year or year and a half to TTC and who knows what will be going on after that. I just feel like I am going to disappoint someone. Has anyone had this problem and how did you handle it? Thanks

Re: Question for you ladies

You cannot hold up your life for others events. And it might end up taking a little longer than you expect.

I think you should go along with your plans - you will deal with next year when it comes.

Good Luck!

You can't postpone your family for one day events. It just doesn't make sense. Anyone who cares about you enough to include you in their wedding will be happy for you if you get pregnant!

I think that if your friends are really good friends, they will understand that you couldnt post pone starting a family just to avoid being pregnant at their wedding. plus, you would be surprised. I will be 4 months pregnant at my brothers wedding and there will be another bridesmaid that is 9 months pregnant! It all works out!

I agree with the other comments. You never know what may happen. We were originally due in the end of September. We had a M/C and are just now ready to start TTC again. I am a BM in a wedding in NC (I live in Chicago) next March and then have a wedding in Long Island next May. I am very worried that I may miss one of them. But, I know I can't wait any longer. You just never know what may happen. You have to move forward with whats best for your family.

Re: Question for you ladies

If you wait for it to be convenient for "everyone else", then you will never have a baby. There will ALWAYS be something going on around you.

I say GO FOR IT and here is some extra Chat Icon for you!

Re: Question for you ladies

Don't wait!!!!!! Missing out on a wedding for a baby is the best reason EVER!!!! Even a close friend of mine was getting married, in Cleveland, and his sister found out she was PG and due around the time of the wedding. She decided not to be in the wedding and she couldn't even travel out there. The morning of the wedding we got a call that she had just delivered a healthy baby girl!!!!!! My friend said it was the best wedding present he could've gotten.

i had agreed to be a bridesmaid in my friends wedding and then i got pregnant and i am due the week before, so i had to back out, i gave her 9 months notice, but i still felt bad, but its my life and this is what me and my DH chose, i didn't know at the time we were going to get pregnant on the 1st try. Now she is just hoping i can at least make it to the ceremony. Dont let other peoples life events stand in the way of what you and your DH wantChat Icon

Re: Question for you ladies

A true friend would be THRILLED for you both Chat Icon They are living there lives and you are living your own. Did they, or have they asked YOUR opinion on THEIR wedding day as to help plan around you poss being pg? My guess is no so why are you planning TTC around THEIR wedding. TRY TRY TRY and they will understand.......my friends MOH was 8 1/2 months pregnant and exhausted, but she made it down the aisle...she loved every minute of it and they were both so excited for eachother!!
