question for those who used rock n play for night sleeping
this may sound like a dumb question but where in your room did you place the rock n play? we have a high king bed and the rock n play seems so low. plus we don't have much room on the sides of our bed. and i just have these visions of something falling off the night stand onto the baby.
and then if i put her at the foot of the bed i cant see her.
these are just some of the crazy thoughts that are starting to fill my head during the third trimester

question for those who used rock n play for night sleeping
I have ds next to our king bed in his. I don't have anything on my night stand other than my breast pump and a camera (hooked up to the video monitor. I have the rock and play the opposite direction that I lay so I can see his face. so far so good.

we have a king bed too and had our DD right next to my side of the bed. we cleared off the shelves on the wall above where she'd be sleeping and it worked well.

We also have a high king bed. I put DS' rock and play next to my side of the bed. I just had to lean over and I'd see him.

Re: question for those who used rock n play for night sleeping
For the first few weeks, I had her right next to my side of the bed. It'd prob be most convenient for you and also give you peace of mind if she were close by. Could you move your nightstand temporarily? After the first month or so, I moved her across the room bc she was so noisy! I think we both slept better after that.

Next to my bed, but we have a good amt of room there. I also cleared things from my nightstand and pushed the RnP a bit away from the side of the bed in case my pillow fell at night.

Re: question for those who used rock n play for night sleeping
Just make sure the covers/blankets won't fall on her if you and DH kick them off in your sleep. We have those issues lol.
I think at the end of the room will be fine, you will hear her breathing, grunting, etc.
I like pp suggestion of moving the nightstand at first if you are nervous.
We use the RNP sometimes but usually she is in the bassinet of the pack n play which I can't see her technically from laying in bed. She's about 5 feet away from me, and I can hear her, which gives me enough peace of mind. We just put the RNP next to the PNP when we use that. We put her in anything she needs to get some sleep.

question for those who used rock n play for night sleeping
He was at the side of the bed, far enough from us that we wouldn't interfere with his sleep LOL He was on DH's side (more room and on my side he woulda been right next to the heat/ac vent) so I had to sit up to see him - I wear glasses too so I couldn't really see him anyway lol!! We worried over that decision for awhile but it all worked out fine
