Question for those that recently had an accepted offer...

Just curious how much cheaper you got it than the asking price and was the house reduced prior.

Re: Question for those that recently had an excepted offer...

Our house was reduced 5 times (I think) and we got it for 14K less than the final asking price.

This was back in April and the house had been on the market since July of 2006

Re: Question for those that recently had an accepted offer...

Original MLS - 469
Reduced - 449
We offered - 410
They countered - 440
We countered - 420
They accepted

Then we did the inspection and dropped the house like a bad habit.

And then they called me and offered 400. We still said no.

We got comparable listings in the area that sold for 30-15k less than asking. We are now looking for houses 30k over our highest allowable price.

I expect it to get worse by the end of the month. For the homeowners that is, not the buyers. School's coming.

We paid about $25K less than asking price (the house was new to the market).

We saw the house at an open house. We went back to see it a few months later after the owners dropped the price by $15,000. We offered $30,000 less than the new asking price, and they accepted.

Original MLS 525K
Reduced 499K
Reduced again 489K
we offered 480K
They countered 485K

We got it for 40K less than original MLS price. I wanted to add the house is completely remodeled, new kitchen, new baths, finished basement. Basically, we are painting and moving in.

We got our house for $64,000 less then the original price of the MLS listing. It had been reduced 3 times before we went back to see it a second time and made our offer.

The house wasn't on the market all that long, it just wasn't priced accordingly for all the work that needs to be done with it.

We got our house for $15K less than asking. The house was newly on the market when we put in our offer and was definitely priced right for the area.

My parents put their house on the market at the end of May for $399K in Levittown. Within 5 days, they had an accepted bid & offer on their house for $390....the house is going to closing tomorrow

We got it for $20k below the asking price and $50k below what they were going to list it with a realtor for (it was a FSBO).

There's a house, almost identical to ours size-wise, neighborhood-wise and land-wise up for sale now at $35k more than what we paid. Someone offered $20k less than what we ended up paying and they rejected. I can't wait to see what it goes for!

We got it for $10K below the asking. They had it on the market 4 months, and the list price was not lowered during that time.

We thought it was a pretty good deal, since the owners had been realistic in their pricing of the home. It was a little lower than similar homes in that area.

my house was put on the market at lower than its value for a quick sell. We offered 14K below asking and got it for 4K less than asking. still a great buy though!

We settled on a price 15K below asking. I don't know if it was reduced from an original asking price.
