Question for those momMas whose water broke
Was there any warning sign or did it just come out of nowhere? Meaning, were you having contractions already and then it happened, or did it just happen without any signs?
My due date is this friday and i want to take ds to the pool tomorrow, but I'm so worried about it happening without warning while in a bathing suit at a public pool! My water never broke with him.

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
My water broke and there was no signs of it coming. I was late, not dialted at all, and not effaced at all.
It was 5 in the morning, hubby was getting up to go to work. I felt like I peed my pants a lil, figured I had poor bladder control, and went to the bathroom. Went, cleaned up, changed, laid down. Repeat scenario, with a puzzled face. The third time I figured it wasn't just poor bladder control at this point, got up, and it started streaming.
It was not nearly as bad or as messy as I thought it would be!!! I was actually laughing hysterically!!!

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
My water sort of broke. I woke up in the morning & was wet. I went to bathroom; lay back down & was wet again 20 minutes later (not a huge gush at all). They actually had to break my water fully b4 I delivered as it never did; was just trickling out.
No warning sign at all.

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
I had really painful contractions. I started having contractions from that Wednesday and Friday they started getting a little painful. By 9PM I called the doctor because I was timing them and they were coming every 6-7 minutes apart. The doctor told me to start heading to the hospital, I was taking my sweet little time, telling my husband that I think we should wait because I didn't think it was necessary to go (I actually didn't want to leave my dogs by themselves overnight!) and bang at 11PM my water broke... had no choice but headed off to the hospital!

This is exactly what happened to me! First felt it at 5:30am and finally went to the hospital at 9am. By the time I got there the contractions were pretty strong, but there wasn't any warning prior.

My alarm went off to get up for work. It was 3 weeks before my EDD. I stood up and my water broke. 5-10 minutes later contractions started. No warning

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
No warning at all. Was on the computer and felt a little wet - when I went to the bathroom, well, let's just say it was really gross and then a big gush. When the OB checked me out about two hours later, he said I was having little contractions (I didn't even feel them). DS was born about eight hours after my water broke.

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
With DS1 in broke in my mom's car en route to the hospital - I was in full blown labor and gave birth about 45 minutes later so it wasn't too shocking when during one of the contractions a huge gush came out, and then with each subsequent contraction

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
No warning here. I was actually disciplining DD1 and getting ready to ground her for the very first time EVER when I felt the trickle down my leg and in the second it took me to look down to see what it was I literally exploded. Shocking to me since my water never broke with DD...doc had to do it in the hospital. My DD1 was on her bed screaming 'OH GROSS MOMMY JUST PEED ON ALL OVER MY FLOOR!!!!' I'm convinced DD2 deflected the attention away from DD1 on purpose to save her from being punished.
And no...DD1 never did get that grounding

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
My water broke around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon, I had no idea that my "water broke" I thought I had been leaking a little. I was 37 weeks and 1 day at that point with my . Absolutely no other feelings, I felt normal, thats why I didnt think I was at the beginning stages of labor. I was aditted 3 hours later and not even dialated at that point. My girls were born the next day- Friday at 2:10 and then at 3:49 in the afternoon.

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
No warning, and now that I know how it can happen, I am petrified this time around of where it is going to happen, if it does!
I was in bed, and the sudden gush woke me from my sleep. If I had been at work..without towels/pads..I would have been mortified!
I wouldn't stop my everyday routine, or let it inhibit me from doing stuff, but I will stock my car, or bag a few weeks before my due date!

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
I was at a hair salon when my water was slowing breaking. I was going to the bathroom, I was not sure that it was my water breaking. I got into the car and my water broke. No signs at all.
This time I have been having contractions but my water has not broke yet.

Re: Question for those momMas whose water broke
My water broke after a few hours of contractions. I sat on the bed and leaned over to tie my sneaker to go for a walk and felt a pop and a shift in my belly. Ran (as only a 9 month pregnant woman can run) to the bathroom and had a huge gush.
I say go to the pool and enjoy yourself. I was swimming 6 days before DD came and it was such a relief to my entire body.
