I had off last year and the year before I believe it was a weekend. This year I am going to see if I can leave early. I cant wait to see ds in hos costume!

But for me Halloween trumps Christmas - no drama, no presents or pressure - its just fun

I usually try to leave early. If there's an activity at school that day, I may take the whole day or both go in late & leave early. If they're in school, no point of taking the whole day.

Last year DH and I took off. This year, i will just be coming back from Maternity leave so we'll be taking a half day.

Last year I left an hour early just because it was DDs first Halloween and we were going out with my niece. This year I may take off a couple of hours early again just because there's a couple of people we'll prob meetup with. When DD is older and schools do something like a parade I'll prob take half days.

Depending on the time of the "parade" for her class in daycare, I go to work late or leave work early.
This year I am probably taking off though.

I can't do either  I'm going to let her wear her costume for a few events we have before Halloween and I'll get her dressed in it in the morning on the 31st. I wish I could take her trick or treating, but there's nothing I can do about it.

Last year I took a 1/2 day. This year either a 1/2 or the whole day. It all depends on what time their parade is at school.

Question for FTWMs: What do you do on Halloween?
I'm trying to figure this out too! It's Ds's first halloween, although he's still too young to understand.
Do you ladies stay by your house or take DC by family houses too? I'm trying to figure out if we should stop by my moms neighborhood and then my in-laws neighborhood. Unfortunately, I couldn't have them both at our neighborhood together!

Last year I took off.
We brought the kids to the mall in their costumes.
Then we went to Applebees----kids eat free on Halloween.
It was great.
This year I can't take the day off so I may leave early.

My husband already has the day off, especially since I can't make a firm commitment to be there for my son.

DD wakes up from her nap at 4 so I work a full day ( plus an extra hour ) and then come home and take her around.

I will usually work from home that day.
DD's daycare does a costume parade around 2 pm I want to say- then they have a party after that the parents can stay for.
After that we can take her home and do some trick or treating.
So I will work from home and then kind of take the late afternoon off I guess.

I take off every year. I've been doing it since my nephew & niece were in school.
It's probably the one holiday - outside of St. Patrick's Day - that I'm religious about
