Question about what to do....

Question about what to do....

So DH and I just saw a RE for the first time this cycle (we have been trying for abot 18 months....had no issues with our DS, but can't seem to get it together with this one.... )

So.... They started me on clomid 100mg yesterday and are looking to do an IUI as soon as I get my "smiley"...

I was supposed to go for an HSG this month, but Zwanger cannot fit me in at all on the days that I would need to go, so it looks like I am out for that test this cycle

All other blood work and SA have been completely normal....

That being said, would you think that I just hold off on the IUI and just try the clomid for this cycle? DH thinks that since I didn't have the HSG it is a waste to do the IUI b/c it will be a moot point if my tubes aren't patent.

I understand what he is saying but I am just so SICK of being disappointed with BFNs that if the HSG were to eventually come back negative, I will regret not having done the IUI this time?

Any suggestions?? Am I being irrational?

Sorry you are going through this. I'm not going to tell you what to do,but if I was in your situation I would have the HSG done before starting a cycle because if you have blockage an IUI could be a waste.

Can you go to NRAD instead of Swagner? If you have a script you should be able to take to any radiologist.

Re: Question about what to do....

I know it stinks to have insurance dictate our care , but is your IUI covered ? For me personally I would go ahead with it bc I have unlimited iui coverage, if I was paying out of pocket or using up coverage I might hold off.

Also I know you are concerned about work schedules and such , if it fell on a day off I would be more inclined to go ahead with the iui, if it was going to send my schedule into a tail spin or I would be using my sick days I might hold off and just do the clomid this month and wait until I had all the facts before oing ahead with an iui.

IUI all the way. To be honest I am on IUI #3 and haven't had an HSG yet
