Question about teaching child how to add….
My daughter seems to be good at math. I have given her a bunch of math addition problems that she is able to do correctly. I now want to give her math questions which require "carrying the one." However, I thought I heard that school's don't teach it that way anymore. She is using Singapore Math workbooks at school. From a google search, it seems like they call it regrouping.
Am I better off teaching her the Singapore math regrouping way because eventually she will learn it that way? Though quite frankly, it looks unnecessarily complicated. Or do I teach her the old fashion way which requires you to carry the one? Then she will have to figure it out the other way when the time comes.
She is in kindergarten.

Question about teaching child how to add….
Right now in school they learn all the different methods (carry over, regrouping, ten blocking, ect...) After learning them all they kinda pick which one they are most comfortable with (for later grades). I would teach her the carry over now, it will help her to be confident in that method later on.
