question about shoe sizes

How do baby sizes work? DS is 10 months and I have been looking for shoes in store but I can't find his size and I can't figure out what to order online. My mother got him a size 3 and it's too small. I am seeing size 4 but then there is also 4T. I saw ones in the store that were just marked size 4 but they are for a child not a baby. How can I make sure I am ordering a baby size 4 and not a child size 4?

Re: question about shoe sizes

You really need to get their foot measured.
Once DD was full time walking and able to wear shoes we took her to Stride Rite and they measured her.

The ones with a T- like 4T etc are not true sizes- that is more of a clothing size.

When DD got her first shoes, she was a size 5W.

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't think to go there cause he doesn't walk yet. Lol he doesn't even really stand on his own yet. I'll have to take him there on my next day off Chat Icon

Re: question about shoe sizes

Also, just know that they technically should not be wearing ANY shoes until they are full time walking
It's bad for their developing feet.

Thank you! I didn't know this. I've never really put shoes on him because I thought it was pointless since his feet never touch the ground. Lately every baby I see out though has shoes on which is why I started looking for shoes. I am glad to know I don't have to worry about it for now! Makes my life easier Chat Icon

yeah no shoes until they are walking. my 13 month old DS isn't really walking but stands. I pack his sneakers in my bag when we go out and put them on if he wants to "walk" around. Definitely get him sized
