Question about running shoes

They will slowly stretch but if you are doing a decent amount of mileage I would not be happy if they are bothering you from the get go.

I'm following the couch to 5k app so I'm doing almost 2 miles every time. I hope they do stretch! They don't bother me right away, I start feeling the rubbing after like 20 min of jogging/walking.

I get blisters but it's not my shoes it's my toes. It's just the way they are. I use tape to help with that. And I have to say I think when running a lot there is no way to avoid issues. I'm losing a toe nail due to 10+ mile runs during my training.

Question about running shoes

I tried on numerous pairs of sneakers to find myself a good fit. I even had to do research on a proper fit bc I seem to overpronnate when running and was getting shin splints with other shoes... I really had to find the perfect shoe and it made such a difference. So no, I don't think they should hurt from the get go if they are the right shoe... I also go up 1/2 size for running sneakers.

They shouldn't be uncomfortable, especially when they are new. Go to The Runners Edge in Farmingdale & get fitted for shoes. They are the best! I ended up loving Asics, but everyone is different & they really help find what's best for you & you test them out right there.

Re: Question about running shoes

I go to a running store to get fit for shoes. When I used to buy shoes on my own, they'd feel fine in the store, but I was very susceptible to blisters. I rarely, if ever, get blisters now. However, I do need to break in all my shoes. For some reason, 2-3 miles into a run with any new shoes, my toes get a little tingly. Once I break them in, I'm fine. It's just strange to me that it happens with different brands of running shoes that I try.

Most running stores will also take shoes back if you've tried them out a handful of times and they're not fitting well.

I actually got them at Smithtown Running Company, I got fitted and they recommended those shoes. I'll call them and see what they say, I hope I don't have to buy new ones cause they were not cheap!

You might need a wider toe box.

I had a horrible experience with them. I found they really didn't know how to fit properly. I now go to the store in Huntington. They were awesome and really worked with me to find the right sneaker. I was having so many issues after an injury and they worked with me for over an hour to make sure I left with exactly what I needed.
