question about PTO days, how many do u have

how many days either alone or combined are most company's offering.

this new job 15 PTO day combined with sick days, not great, 8 holidays and 2 personal days to be used every six months

My last job (union) 4 weeks vacation, 7 sick days, 3 personal, 5 bereavement and 7 maturity AKA maternity

current job 23 PTO days combining sick and vacation, 2 continuing Ed days. 5 floating holidays

Current job: 23 vacation days, unlimited sick days but they track them and frown upon you if you use any, 7 holidays

I get a ridiculous amount of time off - started this job 2 years ago and it was this amount when I started - 21 vacation plus 21 sick 8 holidays and then a few floating holidays on top of that.

But, in general I think a lot of companies are cutting back on the along of time off they offer. How long before the amount of time you get increases?

Bereavement depends upon family member, either 3 or 5 days.

18 days pto and 7 holidays. I work 4 days a week so its prorated.

My old job was 4 weeks plus 6 sick/personal days

I get 10, but I'm a teacher.

Dh gets 20 vacation, 5 sick, 3 personal, and 11 holidays.

15 Vacation, 5 sick, 3 personal, 1 bday day, and two floaters outside of standard holidays, bereavement is 2-3 depending.

As soon as you start you baiscally get 3 personal days (though this can be less depending what month you are hired in)

10 sick days.

9-10 holidays a year

after I think a year you get 5 vacation days I don't remember which year it goes up buts by 5 days eactime and after 9 years you get 20 days vacation which is max.


They just started giving real maternity leave before that you went out on short term disability which is free (they pay for it) and you got either 6 0r 8 weeks

they also started paternity leave also


for deaths you get 3-5 days depending who it was


my job is very lax though about when you need a day or take some of the day

I personally wish my job would combine the sick personal and vacation into one big bucket. I never use my 10 days sick I barely use 2 or 3 days a year. The only time I used it was for maternity with short term disability which requires you to take the first week in sick days.

I'm a teacher and get 5 sick, 5 family sick, and 8 personal.

DH gets unlimited sick and vacation. His job doesn't care how much he takes as long as he gets his work done. Usually, he takes 4-5 weeks. I believe he gets 6+ weeks paternity leave.

I've been with my company for 9 years and get 15 days vaca, 5 days sick, and 7 paid holidays. No personal days.

Next year at my 10 year anniversary I get another 5 days paid vacation AND then I have to wait until I hit 25 years of service for another week. It's going to be a long 15 years ahead.... HAHAHAHAH

I think you have a lot of PTO for starting at a new place..
I wish my company offered that package when I started.

I am on a reduced schedule so I get 26 PTO days. I would have 30 if at 100% salary.

That includes sick days.

We don't get off for MLK, Columbus, or things like that, but off all major holidays and the day after thanksgiving, Xmas, etc.

I get 29 PTO days (I've been here 18 years). I can carry over up to 15.

We get 10 or 11 holidays...

15 PTO days a year. We never lose them but we do stop accruing if we hot 300 hrs (we call it the 300 club). We can also go negative for a day or two if we need to.

i have 15 vacation days;

6 personal days

and "unlimited" sick time. i accrue more vacation and personal days the longer Im here. last year I had 5 personal days.

+ the usual holidays: Martin Luther, Pres Day; Mem Day, 4th July, Labor day, thanksgiving / xmas / new years.

From the day you start:

20 vacation days
Unlimited sick days
9 paid holidays

My company has a "use it or lost it" policy with vacation days - so nothing is accrued and you must take all days before the end of the year.

15 days vacation seems pretty standard to start with.

I remember my first job gave 10 vacation and 5 personal and I thought it was low. If I remember correctly, you bumped up to 15 vacation at 3 years, 20 vacation at 5 years and 25 vacation at 10 years.

I had 20 vacation days at my last job. Would go up to 25 at 5 years.

25 PTO days to use however you want. Plus all the typical holidays.

10 holidays
2 floating holidays

Can carry over 10 vaca days per year and can carry over all of your sick time

Unlimited sick days, but can't take tons obviously
All public holidays
And 4 months of "working from home" in between semesters. I do marking during this time, but to be honest, I do this work pretty quickly (in 2-3 weeks).

27 vacation/personal days, 13 sick days, and 12 paid holidays.
