Question about LCD Tv's.....
do you have to have HDTV cable in order to have LCD TV? i have basic cable with no cable box, it is split from my landlords cable. some salesman told me that if i don't have a hook up for HDTV, the picture won't be clear. does anyone know if this is true?

yes, that is true. When we got our second HDTV, we went a few days before picking up the second cable box. You can still use the TV without the HD cable, but it looks grainy like an old TV. You need the HD cable box to get the clear picture. I believe you can buy a box for about $5 a month and plug it into the split cable.

thanks julz! i wanted to buy the TV for my DH as a b-day gift. so i can't ask him these questions
