Question about dehydration

Can dehydration cause low blood pressure? I was feeling very faint this morning, and took my blood pressure and it is unusually low. Could dehydration cause this? I am drinking lots of water at this moment!

Re: Question about dehydration

when I wound up in the hospital because of dehydration I had low blood pressure. Just keep drinking, and eat something like graham crackers, a little sugar ya know.
Feel better!

Re: Question about dehydration

you can buy the urine sticks at any CVS opr drugstore to check for dehydration, if your spilling ketones into your urine. Keep them at home and check.

Dehydration can make you feel that way Chat Icon

Re: Question about dehydration

I drink a lot of water-- throughout the day, and even in the middle of the night.

When I am on the train in the morning-- I feel like I am going to pass out... I think cause it's a little hot, but when I have a drink with me it's a little better.

Obviously in the morning, I have not drank as much as I have at other points in the day-- so, that is when I am most dehydrated-- even though, I don't think I could possibly be dehydrated.

So, that could be your issue-- try drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up and see if it makes a difference.

Re: Question about dehydration

I have no idea, but definitely do your best to drink a gallon of water a day. It can't hurt, and if it IS the cause, it will help.
