Question about cycle

I need some help figuring things out about my cycle. (my cycle averages 28-30 days)
My CD1 was 9/15 then I used the OTP (first response) and did what you ladies said (hold it in for 3-4 hrs & test between 2&8pm) so I got my two lines :) on Monday afternoon & Tuesday afternoon. On the pack it says that if you BD within 24-36hrs of the first test those are the highest chances of conceiving. Is that correct? So technically from Monday afternoon/evening until this morning was when I was ovulating? So today I shouldn't test & my 2ww starts today? I feel so clueless.
Up to this point, I've just been checking online on one of those ovulating calendars but it turns out (according to the OTP that i used this month) its been off a couple of days. So I just want to make sure that from now on I'm doing things right & keeping track the correct way.

Were the two lines the same color?

I think for most OPKs, the test line needs to be the same color intensity as the control line. If it was- then you will ovulate between 24-48 hours after the first test.

If that's the case- then you do not need to test anymore, and you TWW has begun
