I have never been on the pill either. She can ttc right away, however, some doctors tell their patients to wait. The reason they say to wait is to date their pregnancies. If she waits for one AF after coming off the pill that's enough for dating purposes :)
As far as folic acid, she should start taking that asap. However, it's not a requirement for ttc.

I got PG just a few days after coming off the pill. Even though we lost our son, all my levels were fine and no pregnancy related problems. I started taking my pre-natals at about 6 weeks I believe. Of course now I am taking them while TTC.
Hope that helps somewhat

I just came off the pill and my doctor wants me to start trying right away. She put on my prescription pre conceive vitamins. I also have PCOS, so we don't know show easy or difficult it will be to get pregnant. She said if I'm not pregnant within 3 months than I will have to go to a specialist. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

What is PCOS? I've seen it here a few times, but I'm not sure what it means!
