Re: Question about clomid
Clomid is to help you produce more than one follicle and therefore to get more than one egg released during ovulation. I would guess if the swimmers are having some difficulty, they try to give them a better chance of hitting something with 2-3 eggs than one.

Re: Question about clomid
Actually, the purpose of Clomid is to stimulate egg development in the ovaries, not to help produce more than one. Many women only produce one mature follie on Clomid. It CAN and often does produce multiple mature follies, but that's the not the purpose of it.
Depending on the severity of the motility issues, I always thought that IUI w/injectibles gave couples a better chance of conceiving because the purpose of the injectilbles is to create more than one mature follie. At least that's what my RE told us when we first started out.

We had a motility problem and this was the rationale given to us when we tried Clomid. Good luck!
