Question about car seat, latch system, or not?
We put our infant seat and base in our SUV which has no LATCH, but our other car does so DH was putting the other base in and wasn't sure, can we just put it in like the SUV or do we have to use the LATCH system? Is it better to use, or does it not matter either way.
We already got the SUV checked, but not the other car yet.

DH's car has the latch system, mine does not. We used latch for his and belt for mine. It worked fine.

The LATCH system is no safer or less safe than the seatbelt, as long as both are installed correctly. The benefit of the LATCH system is that more people can use it correctly, so by increasing the percentage of correct usage, it is considered "safer". The LATCH only goes up to about 40 lbs, then you have to use the seat belt anyway, so I figure that the LATCH can't be inherently safer since there is a relatively low weight limit.
