Question about bundle me
I use it in my car seat. It is the best thing when it is cold out and for walks!! I just fold it down so it isn't near his face. You can't put it in leaving the hospital, but I use it all the time.

We have plenty of things in our life that are probably "not safe".
Its a personal decision on whether to use it or not. I used it all last winter. My DS is alive and well!!!

Re: Question about bundle me
we have used it in the past and likely will with this baby.
as long as the bundleme is not restricting the straps, there should be no problem. Many people have even suggested cutting the back out of the bundle me which will avoid the issue with straps being restricted (which is the main issue).
IMO, what is the difference between a bundle me and one of those carters buntings? or a snowsuit or a heavy sweater? OR a JJCOLE child insert? They are all the same - fabric between baby and carseat which could interfere with security of straps and impact on baby during a crash.
if the straps are tight and in the correct place, the baby isnt going anywhere (IMHO).
I will say, I would only use the bundleme light at this point - not because of the thickness of the material but due to overheating.

This. Plus, they say that the car seat straps should fit snuggly and not have to be adjusted. Adding the extra material means it could have to be adjusted.
Regardless, everyone I know and see use the Bundle Me and I plan on using it, too.
But to answer the original question, a Bundle Me is safe to use in a stroller.

Question about bundle me
everyone i know uses the bundle me. Never heard it wasn't safe, just that it wasn't tested. i plan on using one since my LO EDD is 2/11, so right in the middle of winter. Never heard that you couldn't use it leaving the hospital. But you can use in in the car seat even if you go on walks with the car seat in the stroller - like if you take the baby to the mall when she is older or out somewhere, you can still use it when its cold....

Question about bundle me
Ok so pretty much most people use it in the car seat I am gathering. I had registered for that and the cover...but don't see the need for both. So I guess I will keep the bundle me.

Question about bundle me
whats considered "not safe" is anything at all that goes into the straps of the car seat. technically NOTHING should be in the straps besides baby and MINIMAL clothing. even winter coats are considered "unsafe". that being said, as a parent you have to make lots of choices on what you want to use with/on your baby. i used the bundle me and LOVED it. i wish there was one for my convertible seat. it def was a little annoying cause my DD was a preemie and very small last winter so we had to loosen the car seat straps A LOT to get the bundle me in. once my DD was in the straps were always tight and it kept her so snuggly.

The think the cover is nice, but I bought the bundle me also. I don't think the cover will be as warm in the winter but I think it will be nice in the spring and definitely was nice during the fall for DD. Plus we plan to have more children so I'm sure we will use it.

Re: Question about bundle me
I use it in my carseat, not sure if a new one came out m but I have an older version of it, the one I used in the stroller when DD was a baby 5 years ago. So now I use it in the infant carseat and it's the best thing ever. Nothing is really "safe" to use in the carseat, not even a winter coat but I don't think anyone undresses their kid to put them in a carseat... I just make sure cover is away from his face and straps are very tight and that's it.

Question about bundle me
Personally, I don't believe they are safe because the can, and do interfere with the alignment and adjustment of the straps and that is not a chance I am willing to take. I am also one who removes their toddlers thick winter coat so the straps can be adjusted tight enough, again, its not a chance I'm willing to take.
I used the shower cap style cover for DS and will again for DS was a preemie, born in October so I used it all winter with him. I would have his clothes and maybe a lightweight sweatshirt on him and then after strapping him in, would put a blanket over him, then close the cover. On long car rides I would remove the blanket so he wouldnt overheat. He was always nice and toasty when I took him out.
In the end it comes down to a personal decision that you need to make and be comfortable with for the safety and well being of your child.

Re: Question about bundle me
just playing devil's advocate - how are bundlemes any less safe than the inserts that come IN carseats - the infant inserts that you remove when the baby reaches 13ish lbs? Similar to the ones JJcole and Summer Infact sell?

As far as I know (I was told by a certified car seat inspector) when safety and crash tests are done by the company those inserts are tested with the seats and gave passed the tests. The after market ones *may* be safe, but they have not been certified or tested by any car seat company in their individual seats.

Re: Question about bundle me
I use the bundle me in ds city mini stroller. When he was in his infant car seat, i used the bundle me car seat cover cap. It goes over the car seat and doesnt interfere with straps.
