Question about a chest cough
So every Fall, I get a nasty cold--this year was no exception! I had it for a few days and feel fine now. However, I now have a chest cough from all the congestion I had built up. I get this every single year, and it takes about a week or so to get rid of the cough, there's nothing I've ever done that helped it go away faster. I'm sure I'll be fine, but is having a cough for that long OK for the LO?

Re: Question about a chest cough
I think your abs will be sore, but other than that, you should be ok. Up the fluids (duh) and hopefully it'll run through your system quickly. My OB OK'd cough drops if that's any help.

Re: Question about a chest cough
oh I've got the same thing going on. PITA cough. Feel better soon. I hope mine clears up, I've had it a few days now.
this is what I found on chest cough during pregnancy:
In general, coughs and colds are not dangerous conditions. They might be annoying and make you feel awful, but neither presents a real risk to your health or the health of your baby. If you are ill for more than a few days, develop a high fever, have a severe sore throat, or are worried that your symptoms seem unusual, you may have strep throat or a sinus infection and should see your practitioner.

Re: Question about a chest cough
ugh i feel your pain. I have been coughing non stop for 3 weeks. I got a sinus infection and bronchitis so I took antibiotics, but the cough doesn't want to go away. I asked my Dr. and basically was told to do all the things I already have done that don't help (tea, rest, vicks, cough drops, etc). As for the coughing, your LO is fine.. but trust me it def. starts to hurt the abs and ribs so much. Sometimes I am in tears from coughing.
