Question about a bathroom remodel.

We have a small master bathroom and it needs a facelift. We are keeping the tile which is a beige color, but are replacing the vanity, medicine cabinet, and cabinet above the sink. My question is, for small bathroom what color cabinetry and walls would you recommend to make it feel bigger?

Re: Question about a bathroom remodel.

I have heard that lighter colors on the walls make a room look bigger, while darker colors make a room look smaller than it is.

Re: Question about a bathroom remodel.

We reno'd our TINY bathroom in our NYC apt, and we still went for a darker wood vanity, but got a vessel sink instead to save space.

Mirrors also help a small room so we got a larger wall mirror / med cabinet than usual. We also opted for clear glass doors on the tub as opposed to a curtain.

We ended up painting it a very light sage green to compliment the brown wood and beige tile - it has a nice spa feel. Chat Icon

Re: Question about a bathroom remodel.

Choose pale, cool colors -- soft whites, pastels, and neutrals-- these will make make your bath feel bigger and give the illusion of more space. If you go with a neutral palette to match your walls, be sure to add a few bold elements (accessories, towels, wall art, etc.) so the room isn't so bland.

We just finished this small bath (see link below), and you can see it looks much larger than it is because of the soft color palette. (cabinets match wall tile, and pedestal sink/smaller side cabinet make it look more spacious & airy).
