Re: Question....
the OPK kit tells you when you should begin testing. my guess is that it will recommend about CD9-11 for a 30 day cycle?
As for the CM..... when you go to the bathroom midmonth, you will notice when you wipe that you have lots of excess clear slippery fluid down there. That super slippery clear stuff is the EWCM. It shows up about 2-5 days before you O..... you should begin your BD'ing routine around that time, since that's the stuff that keeps the sperm alive for several days.
The afternoon/eve that you get your OPK+, you should BD much more frequently that night and the next couple days.

Re: Question....
I just checked the instructions with my OPK, and for a 30 day cycle, it recommends that you begin testing on CD13. About 2 or 3 days before you O, you will notice EWCM which will be that stretchy, clearish mucous. Many women have EWCM for 2 or 3 days leading up to O & then they have much less CM on the actual day of O. This of course, varies in each woman.
Don't be ! This stuff can be very confusing in the beginning. There is so much to learn about your body.

I do believe that you can tell by the position of your cervix, but I don't know much about that.
Everyone raves about the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". I haven't read it yet, but I know it covers things like CM & cervical positions.
