Q about moving posts
just curious, many of my posts have been moved recently. so I am wondering... should all job related posts/vents be on the career board and should all DH/SO problems & vents belong on the relationship board?

What type topics were they?
Were they work vents and Dh vents related?

well yesterday I asked about pillows and where to get one's the don't go flat - moved to home - that one I am fine with.
an hour ago I asked opinions on whether DH and I should drive or fly to OH for Christmas and it got moved to travel. if I wanted my post to sit on the travel board for a week with 2 responses, I would have posted it there. 
people post on NFR b/c of the high volume of traffic.
and I see at least 2 other travel related posts on NFR now that are still here. so I am just curious...

I don't really understand the whole moving thing, because everything could be related to another board.
talk of tv shows could be celeb, talk of decorating could be home, talk of shopping fashion...

I don't really care where the posts are. Sometimes people come here b/c there is the most traffis. I don't really mind.
However, some people really get agitated.

you guys have to realize that this board is the most lenient chat board i have seen
no, i'm not reporting threads, i have better things to do
but i'm on other forums and if so you much as violate a fraction of the rules, post gets moved and sometimes the poster gets banned - no questions asked
i think in this case, whoever is running the ship looks at posts quickly and doesn't read them. But, I think the whole moving thing is tame compared to what I have seen
And i love the separate boards.

I don't understand what the big deal is. People are really getting into this whole thing. It's unfortunate - because of the lack of traffic on the other boards. The time it takes to even report a post to have it moved. Who has the energy?

Not that I'm reporting posts or even care that much, but I think the whole point of all of moving posts is to increase traffic on the other boards.
I personally am a big fan of the separate boards. I think they make sense and make the whole site less cluttered overall.
Plus, they allow me to waste more work time.

I don't know if this software supports it but I know on other forum software (vBulletin or phpbb, I can't remember which), it puts a "pointer" in the original thread that says Moved - and you can still click on the link to the thread and get to it.
That way, you know the thread is somewhere else, but you're now reading it on the right forum.
Just food for thought. I've also seen inconsistencies in the movement of threads but agree with CaptainCharisma in that other forums I've been on have been much more stringent than this one.

IMO if it is a travel related post it should be on the travel board. Why shouldn't it be? What is the point then of having it
If its about pets then why shouldn't it be on pets
If its about Celebrities why shouldn't it be on celbrity gossip
