Q about CD1 etc....
Okay I am totally confused. According to my last MP today is CD11 and the online ovulation websites point me in the direction of starting BD on CD16...BUT I see some posters talk about ovulating on CD10....did I miss the boat

Re: Q about CD1 etc....
Im new to this, but from what I understand-it is usually safe to start testing using an OPk on Cd 10-and to BD every other night starting on CD 10 until it is time to O-I tried using the online calendar but it was way off-I was better using the OPK--Good luck!!!

Re: Q about CD1 etc....
The schedule we have followed and that many following a plan follow is BD every other day starting CD8. Start testing with an OPK on CD 10. Once you get your postive OPK (which might happen for you around CD16!) BD that night, 2 more nights in a row, skip a night and then one more night of BDing.
Just because it says to start testing on CD10 doesn't mean that's when you will come up positive. Some people O earlier and later than others!

Re: Q about CD1 etc....
Thanks Ladies.....I guess I will start BD tonight.
Is there a reason why you skip a night in between? save the sperm?

it has something to do with sperm count, but you do need a break also.. every day from CD10 till after you get your positive from the OPK is too long!!
so every other day covers everything!! since sperm can live up to 5 days in fertile CM

Re: Q about CD1 etc....
I just started with the OPK's today and nothing doing so i guess I will keep checking.
Who often should you check? once a day or more?
Are some OPK's not reliable? these ones I got are from an online site and basically show up the same as a pregnancy test - two lines if you are ovulating

Re: Q about CD1 etc....
i personally use Target brand...i think they are all pretty reliable.
you test once a day, after a hold. Some girls don't do the full 4 hour hold - i always try to get close to 4 hours.
The best time to test is between 2:00 & 8:00 pm - the hormone you are testing for builds in your system as you are awake...
Try to limit the amount of things you drink during your hold, as excess liquid can dilute the hormone.
You only have to test once a day.
