PVC Fencing - or Other Fencing
Danielle and I were talking about Fences last night.....
For the people that have done PVC fences, Please tell me who you got to do the fence, and how much did they charge you.
If you dont want to post it, that is understandable. You can FM me too. If you don't want to answer, that is also fine.
If you had other fencing done, Can you email me what youhad done, and what type of wood they used.
If anyone has pictures, that would be great too

We had PVC fence installed last week. I posted pictures to the other fence thread a couple of days ago. Overall, we paid about $5500.
One thing to keep in mind is what kind of style do you want. The solid is less expensive than the lattice. Also, we had three gates put in. One on each side of the house. The third was a "double gate" at the top of my driveway. This was to allow a truck to get into the backyard (if needed). They also offer removable panels.
Before you start to shop around for prices, I would try and decide on these options. This is what I did and it made it a little bit easier to compare prices. We used Riverhead Fence since I was able to get a break on the price through a friend. If we didn't go with them, I would have used
Consumer Fence

Thanks...Thats not a bad price. I loved the pictures you posted. You have an amazing home and the fence came out great. I like the look of the solid fence......We need something that will dress up the house and will keep the neighbors out and the dog in the yard....

5500 is an AMAZING price for that piece of land property that you had fenced in!
I would def try the company Dengal used and I would also call SouthSide Fence and Carls fence. Those seemed the most reasonable out there. Rose was reasonable too but they were backed-up and I didn't want to wait for next available date..
Would you be willing to do it yourself? My brother did his himself and he saved himself a fortune!

Another tip - In my town, you are only allowed to have a 6 foot fence in the back of the yard. We are not fond of the people to the right of us (VERY long story). So, what we did was put up a berm first, then put the fence on top of that. It gave it a little extra height to keep them out. See 4th and 5th picture from my other post.

Another Tip - You may want to call these places now. From speaking to the guys we used, April starts their busy season. I actually had them give me a price in January. I needed to finish up that berm before they could do the install.

We used Carls Fence in Levitown 2 years ago when we moved into our house. We have 60 x100 property and we only got pvc in the front of the house( i wanted it to look pretty when cars drove by) and wood along the back(no one would see it as much) It was much cheaper that way. We also got 2 gates so we can enter the back on either side of the house and it is easier for the oil person to bring the oil. I think it cost us about 5000 2 years ago. ( remember that is when pvc was new so now you can probably get it cheaper).
If we would have done PVC all around it, it would have definately cost a good 10 grand..

They are really nice!! My landscaper did several of them around my property. They look really nice and accentuate the flat boring regular grassy areas =)

How many total feet? Though I did get a "deal", the highest estimate I had was about $6800 - I have 3/4 acre.

A berm is like an elevated flower bed.
All whole back yard is bermed and I plan on putting one on the side of the house with the not so nice neighbors. Then putting shrubs on top of that. We had ours put in during the off season when lansdcapers were looking for some work. We saved a couple of bucks.

We are getting 110 feet of PVC, lattice in front and solid for side yard - it is 4' only becuase of zoning laws and we are paying $3760. We are using craftsmen fence in East Moriches. To do the whole yard in pvc would've been close to 10K, we are basically get a "L" shape for that amount.

We are getting a 6ft solid pvc fence installed Friday from Rose. We only have to do 2 sides though since our neighbor had gotten a new fence last year, so 1 side was taken care of, which was good!
We got a gate on 1 side only, since the other side wasn't level and would have a gap (not good with a dog).
We were told we got 20% off since we ordered it by March 17th, we are paying $3400.
