Purex 3-in-1 Sheets:

Stupid question -- I bought these not really understanding what they are. I figured it was a softener and anti-static type of thing, so instead of a dryer sheet I would use this.

But then when I got home I read the directions and it appears that I use this INSTEAD of detergent as well. So, I put only this into the washing machine (I have a front loader) and then I transfer it over to the dryer and it acts as a dryer sheet. So, it releases detergent and softener and everything? I don't put in any detergent at all?

This seems crazy to me! So, is that correct and how well, if anyone has used it, do you think they work??

yes that is correct, however we tried these, and both DH and I broke out in hives, we were very allergic to it, and we've never had any problems with detergent so just be careful.

I have used them, and liked them, but was unsure whether I can use them in my new washer, since the directions say use only HE/High efficiency detergents. Mary

Just looked it up, and Purex can be used in HE washers. I want to add that normally I use TIDE FREE, because of allergies. I did not notice any sensitivity, however, to the Purex.

I thought I read somewhere you shouldn't use dryer sheets in a front loading dryer??

I use them...so easy...throw it in the wash, and it goes right into the dryer with the wet clothes.

You can also cut them in half to extend their life, so I have heard (never tried them myself!)

I have used them - they are ok. I went back to liquid.
