Pumping- Question- what does this mean?
On month two and my supply is HORRENDOUS. I dont think I was cut out for this.
It takes a whole day to get two 6oz bottles for the twins so they get one a day, sometimes its every other day.
I have nursed in between...lasting 10 miin.
Anyways, lately my left breast which was weak to begin with, has NO supply. As we speak.....im pumping and there is only a few drops.
Am i drying up?
I planned on doing this for another 3wks since i will go back to work.
wondering if it time to end it?

Re: Pumping- Question- what does this mean?
I seems to be very common for there to be a dip in supply around this time. At 5 weeks pp my supply dipped, but only for about a week or so and then it seemed to establish itself.

Pump for 20 min...
not going to lie....i pump on randomness.
I dont want to stress...sometimes Im out and i cant or busy at home and cant get away..
So, 3/4x a day tops.
Nurse- not everyday....10min if i do. Anthony wont latch longer than 5 min.

I'm sure you know this already... but that's probably the problem.
You need to pump every time they are/would be eating... At this point, I'd be pumping every 2 hours for 20 minutes. I know with another LO that's probably impossible for you... but I think that would be the only way to really have enough of a supply.

Re: Pumping- Question- what does this mean?
If you want to keep pumping I would rent a hospital grade pump. Home pumps simply are not made to increase breast milk supply. There are also medications that are available if you want to keep pumping. Please if you want to keep going, make an appointment with a LC. She will be able to present you with all the information to keep going.
Just a week ago, I was literally pumping nothing, and this week i can nurse 3-4 times a day and pump about 5 0z a day.

yes i do
I looked at it this way, I tried, almost gave up about a month ago and then didnt.
I figured what I could give was better than nothing. My intention was to do 3 months.
I was letting it stress me out, I would cry...HATE doing it.
I also dont think it fits my lifestyle.
With a toddler and twins....its nutty.
I will acccept that I got this far.
TY all.

That's okay! It's not for everyone... it doesn't work out for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that so please don't feel guilty at all!!!
You gave them for as long as you could and the reason why you stop doesn't matter... they will be perfectly fine, happy and healthy!

Re: Pumping- Question- what does this mean?
2 months is awesome!!
it must be so hard with twins and your DD, so you have to do what you feel is best for you.
If you want to increase your supply, definitely pump more for at least 20 minutes each time.
If not, be proud of what you have accomplished already!
no matter what you decide, I think you have the right frame of mind. don't let it stress you out.
do what you can, take it day by day.

No matter what you decide to do, you need to give yourself a giant hug and pat on the back. You have done an amazing job! Be proud of yourself!

This was me exactly!! And i only had ONE baby!!...I HATED pumping...DS wouldnt latch, and my supply was slim to none by the time I stopped at 3 months. It didnt even really hurt to dry up. I was happy with however long I COULD do it for. Happy mommy means happy baby or babies in your case!

Re: Pumping- Question- what does this mean?
up the amount of pumping time and more often, demand will increase supply.
mothers milk tea (BRU) is a godsent
Eat oatmeal
drink lots of water
if you are BF too, put them to the breast more often.
