Pumping ques
If you pump to build up a "stockpile" (in addition to BF), when and how often do you pump? It seems like whenever I have time to pump, the baby is hungry pretty soon after and I worry that I pumped too much out and he wont get any food 
ed: to answer my own ques - I try to pump at least once a day and I wind up pumping whenever I get a chance (no set time of day)

When DD was younger I used to pump right after I fed her in the morning.

I always used to do it after the first feeding of the day (I had the most supply in the morning) and after the last feeding of the day.

I'd pump right after the first morning feeding. That's when you tend to have the best supply.
Don't worry if you pump shortly before the baby nurses. Babies are more efficient at getting the milk than the pump. You still have milk left even if nothing is coming out through the pump. Just drink a big glass of water right after pumping if you're concerned about your supply.

Before I went back work, I would pump an hour after the morning feed. & then would get another one in after her bedtime feed.

Ditto the other ladies....after the first morning feeding...that's when you have the most....I usually pump between 4 and 6oz after I feed DD in the morning

At one point when I needed to build up a supply fast due to work, my lactation consultant had me pump after every feeding. It was extremely time consuming but worked. I got the most after the first morning feeding. Once my DD started sleeping predictable, longer stretches, I'd squeeze in one feeding in the middle of the night when I knew I'd have time to rebuild supply before she'd wake up. Whew - I'm exhausted just remembering that! I'm 2 weeks from having #2 and will be doing this again before I know it!

I wake up a couple of hours before DD (she's a late sleeper) so I pump as soon as I wake up...about 12 ounces. Half of that goes in the freezer, and half goes to her when she wakes up (I put her vitamins in that bottle too). She usually wants a little more, and by that time I'm good to BF again.

Right after 1st morning feeding here as well!
If you consistently pump at the same time you will trick you breasts that u need that much always every day and you make more..I have been doings that for about 3 mo...my dd is 4 mo...and after I feed I get about 10 oz combined...I'm afraid to miss a day actually so I don't mess with that!!
But it has worked out great for me and my stash and have never had to pump another time during the day!
