Pumping at airport??
Anyone ever do this? I am going to have to pump at the airport tomorrow and have no idea where I can do this? I just realized that my battery pack for my pump does not work. I never had any use for that part and I put batteries in it and nothing. I am going to have to find an outlet to plug the pump in and pump discreetly. I think this is going to be a difficult task.

I just did this in Costa Rica.

Can you get out and buy a hand pump? I bought the Medela Harmony single hand pump for times like that. It is actually pretty efficient and not too expensive ~$35.

Re: Pumping at airport??
I just found an empty section of the airport and pumped with my cover on - it is not ideal but it worked - i dressed to pump though so i had a swathirt and a nursing shirt on so not much needed to be seen

I did it in the handicapped stall of the bathroom. I had a battery pack though. If you need an outlet that might be a little more difficult. You may find one in the bathroom and you can just put a cover over you.

Re: Pumping at airport??
I've never had to pump at an airport but just wanted to mention that when I tried my battery pack the first time it didn't work. Then I realized you had to open up two seperate compartments, one on each side, to put the batteries in. I felt like such a dumby when I realized there was a whole other section to be loaded with batteries. It may just be me but figured I would mention it incase you have mommy brain like I did.

Same...if you find a gate with no flights scheduled there will be plenty of empty seats and outlets. Just wear a zip-up hoodie, nursing tank, and nursing cover!

I made the same mistake the first time I pumped! It took me forever to realize that there was a second side that needed batteries.
I was also going to suggest going out to buy a battery pack. I think they sell them

Re: Pumping at airport??
i did it on a plane..with the battery pack..(it might be good to have one for times like this)...the humming of the plane in flight was enough sound that no one even knew I was doing it! haha! luckily it was just me and my DH in our row and I had my nursing cover over me!

This is exactly what I would do. I pump everywhere, it's just like nursing your baby. Left my twins at home and pumped at Sesame Place lol
