PSA--Walkie Talkies

So for Christmas we got DS Phineas and Ferb Walkie Talkies! He has recently started playing with them a lot and today was playing with them with me before going out. Well when we were done he must have just thrown the one he was using on the couch. We left to run errands and spend some time at the park maybe gone 3hrs total.

Well we come home he grabs the Walkie Talkie on the couch and screams "Ohhh No Mama!!" I run over and see that the walkie talkie must have been left on and it BURNED a giant hole in our leather couch!!!!!!! I could not believe it actually burned the couch or the damage that was caused from such a small battery operated toy! I immediately called Toys R Us and was put through to the claims department and told that I would be hearing from someone soon since it is considered a high priority claim due to the burn!

I am so grateful that DS didn't get hurt playing with them and that the couch didn't actually catch on fire!! Just wanted to let others know what happened in case you have this toy or something similar!!

HOLY MOLY, thank you for the PSA!!! I don't have this toy but it just shows you we can NEVER assume a toy is "safe"!!!! I'm glad you called it in right away, hopefully they'll recall the thing ASAP!!!!

Please also call the company to report it. That sounds like a product that needs to recalled asap! Glad your home and ds are ok! You can also report it online at CPSC.gov
