From a magazine I recently read:

** Stop the credit card madness! You can ask to stop the offers for 5 years or permanently www.optoutprescreen.com
**Cut off the catalogs. Sign up for Catalog Choice's free service and select the ones you don't want to receive. www.catalogchoice.org

Thanks for this. I recently did a lot of this to stop getting junk mail. Took a while but it seems to be working. Now I never give my addy out when not absolutely necessary.
