All bottled water is a SCAM. I hope a report like this gets people to stop drinking so much bottled water and just drink water from the tap.

yup--they just treat the water and filter it.
i still think poland spring is the best tasting water--i never liked aquafina or dasani that much.

poland spring comes from a well next to a major hwy. The acutal spring dried up years ago before the water was marketed.
All bottled water is filtered tap water. An the reverse osmosis that vitamin water uses means nothing but filtering.

As I take a sip of my Poland Spring...
I don't care where they get bottled water from as long as it is not from the East River (any other nasty river can go here). It's convenient and refreshing, it serves its purpose.

It's filtered tap water. The same as if you ran your tap water through a Brita filter.
Spring water is different.
I notice aquafina and dansani say "purified water" on them rather than spring.

i'll never understand people that buy Voz, or Evian, or Fiji...it all tastes the same to me!

it's about time people start hearing that bottled water isn't all that.
oh... did you know that like never before, children of affluent families are having more tooth rot/decay than before. too many parents are giving their kids bottled water THAT DOESN'T HAVE FLORIDE instead of tap water.
just another reason why i'm happy to be poor

I also only buy bottled water on the go. Tap water (filtered) tastes the same and had flouride added.
I don't think bottled water has fluoride -- though if it's bottled tap water... I guess it does.

I always knew that. I hate bottled water, especially Dasani and Aquafina. It tastes funny to me. I like bottled spring water because it tastes more like what I'm used to.
However, we banned all bottled water in our house for environmental reasons. We drink tap water ran through a PUR water filter. Our pediatrician actually made it a point to say that our NYC water is just fine and that it's necessary for the fluoride.

I buy Poland Spring sports bottles because of convenience and then I fill them with tap water and put them in my fridge at work. I use filtered tap water through my fridge at home

I noticed the pruified also. It doesn't bother me where it as from as long as I like the taste. To me it doesn't taste like tap water so it is fine with me

I only drink Poland Spring and not tap water. Mainly because the tap water in my town smells like chlorine and has a bad taste. I refuse to drink the water!

I have heard this before - honestly to me, all bottled water tastes the same. I don't drink it b/c it supposed to be "spring" water, I drink it for convenience - when I'm out, or want cold water at home, but I have no problem drinking tap water.

There is no water coming into your tap from the East River, or the Hudson River, or any river.
If you live in the city they come from reservoirs upstate. If you live on LI they come from aquifers. Both are clean and pure. Both go through extensive testing and filtering processes.
Your bottle of Poland Spring had absolutely no regulations on it.

I am so anti bottled water aside from the convenience factor. We live in NYC with the best tap water available!!!
Unlike when I visit FL I can barely stand to brush my teeth the water is so gross.
