PSA for NON dog owners
Please stop rolling your eyes when I decline a Happy Hour invite. My dog is locked up alone from 7:30AM to 6PM. She is my baby. I am not able to go out after work, for anything- let alone to go out drinking, while neglecing my dog and her bladder.
And I can NOT go home, let her out, then lock her back up. Because that is just cruel. I love this creature. And she needs attention.
I would never roll my eyes about you needing to pick up your child from somewhere.
It's a responsibility, sorry.

I am so with you on this!!!!!
I had re: yesterdays happy hour ordeal at my job.
My puppy is more important then guzzling a drink down my throat with people I could care less about anyway.

This is soooo tue. All the time I decline invitation, but I just can't go home, then lock him up again. If it's an important enough even and I have enough notice. I will put him in Doggy day care for the day, t=so then at least the guilt is minimized. But your right . It is totally a responsibility!

It's interesting - before I had a dog, I never understood or appreciated the fact that people couldnt do something bc they had to go home to take care of the dog.
Now that I have a dog, I totally get it!!!! And I ADORE my dog....I love going home to her after work! She gets so excited to see me, it's like the best feeling.

some people will just never get it.
My honeymoon to St Lucia is going to be for seven nights - then we are planning a big three week first anniversary to Key West - and we are getting a small house so that I can bring Brutus - I am more excited about THAT vacation! EVeryone thinks I am nuts for that.
It hurts to know that for the week I am gone, even though he will be well taken care of- he probably won't eat or drink properly and never really leave his bed  its not like i am canceling my HM or anything - just going for a week instead of two and then planning something for later!

I would LOVE a vacation with Busey!!!!
the guilt I feel when we go away is rediculous.
I had my sister house sit for us while we were in hawaii- because I couldn't handle the thought of her being in a kennel!
