prototype... gift basket
ok. so here is my first attempt at putting together the gift baskets for SO's kids.
he has three adult children, they're all in their mid to early 20s, they all live with their boyfriend/girlfriends.
on the side of the basket are smaller things i hadn't placed yet. i still have to pretty them up and then wrap them in cellophane.
i did a practice to see if i already had enough stuff to fill the baskets or if i need to do a bit more shopping. i will be adding a few more smaller items.
give me your opinions.

That's really cute! Although the stay free might be a little embarrassing lol. Maybe you can add in some holiday themed candy just to make it a little more festive...is it for Christmas?

Re: prototype... gift basket
To be completely honest, I would think it's so weird if someone gave me maxi pads for Christmas in a basket. I would get rid of them altogether!

I agree. I'm all for practical gifts, but there's a line, lol.

Yeah, I agree with the others about the pads.
There are a lot of personal products in there. Are they all brands/products you know for sure they use?
The basket is a nice idea and I think it has plenty of stuff in it. I'd add some fun holiday stuff or luxury items. I like getting stuff I can use, but it's nice to get a gift that I wouldn't normally spend the money on.

To me this looks more like the baskets I made for my wedding bathrooms rather than a gift basket. Maybe do a themed basket for a gift? Like movie night with some popcorn, candies, drinks and a gc for a movie theater or redbox rental?

Is there a specific reason for the gift basket like this? Love the idea and the work you put into it but all those items look like things I would put in a stocking, not as a real gift, especially for someone in their late 20s. I would also make sure that they use the products you are putting into it because if they don't, it'll all go to waste.

Re: prototype... gift basket
Its looks like "a going away to college" gift basket. Not christmas. Imo. I would make it simple. How about a gift card to each of the kids favorite resturant?

I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I would not give that as a Christmas gift. If you want to do a gift basket, make it a movie night, game night, etc.

I know you asked opinions about this a week or so ago and I thought it was a good idea. But I'm sorry, I hate to say it and don't want to offend you but when I look at this I don't see "gift".

I'm with some of the others. I feel bad saying it but it reminds me of those little sample boxes they gave out in middle school gym or health with pads, deodorant, soaps, etc. I know you are trying to be thoughtful but I would rethink your idea. Maybe a bottle of wine, a gc for Redbox, and some popcorn and candy. If you really think they could benefit from practical stuff I'd just do a target gc.
