I do have a question though-- should I be putting it on her ENTIRE body, even parts covered by her shirt & pants (NOT SPF clothes/rashguards)? I don't, but probably should though, right?
I do if he is wearing a light colored shirt or I am nervous he is going to get wet.
I also do under the short sleeves and under the bottom of his shorts

I just bought the Neutrogena Pure and Free. which site shows that it is extremely toxic? Thanks.
Here is some info on Neutrogena: Here was a few things I found with Neutrogena, there are more chemicals than I listed but you can see what I mean with these examples.
1. Environmental Working Group says that overall Neutrogena sunscreen is not safe: Link to sunscreen guide (see the bullet points under AVOID)
2. Tocopheryl Acetate - which says "toxic to human skin with strong evidence"
3. Alumina - "strong evidence in human neurotoxicity", "moderate evidence of human nervous system toxicant," Tumor formation, etc.
4. Acrylates Copolymer
5. BHT - "Known Human Immune System toxicant," "Human Skin Toxicant - strong evidence," "endocrine system disruption," "brain and nervous system effects," etc.
The pure and free isn't even tested on their site, so I don't think the above is accurate for that particular kind of Neutrogena. The other ones, yeah, I see the ratings on those.
I'm guessing it hasn't been tested/posted yet b/c it's new. The few "newer" things I've tried to look up on that site aren't there, it takes quite a while for them to appear, unfortunately. But I do still like the site.

Yeah, I guess I should just slather it all over when she's just in a diaper, since she wears a lot of light cotton shirts/pants/shorts/skirts. I can't believe I never really thought of it until now

Re: Protecting Toddler from the Sun
I use a vegetable oil based sunblock by Lavera, its expensive, but my son doesn't do too well with nivea or others, he tends to have allergic reactions. I love Lavera, its completely organic and veggie based. Its SPF 30, but my son has never gotten burned.
Keep in mind, we live in England, so we only have a few days of sunshine a year, we had one today....but we did use it in Florida.

You're right. The Pure and Free is not on the site yet because it is new. However, the links I posted tell you which ingredients to look out for and what the risks are. The above list are ingredients that are in the Neutrogena Pure and Free and what the risks are. It doesn't get a rating # though. But you can look at the ingredient list and do the research on those chemicals individually which is what I did.
