progesterone success stories
My OB/midwife started me on progesterone supplements today because my hormone levels are a little low. I am going back for more bloodwork tomorrow to see if they are rising (48 hrs after my first bloodwork), Anybody have progesterone success stories? I'm still spotting dark brown blood, but it isn't very heavy, it's not bright red, and I have no cramping at all.

Re: progesterone success stories
I am also on supplements for low levels of prog. I have been ok thus far.
I know there are many woman on this board who have success stories. I received numerous FMs from them when I had posted awhile back. Here is one of the stories, I won't write who it's from in case for some reason they don't want me to but this was the first one I got and it brought a smile to my face.....:
"At 6 weeks my progesterone was really low, it was 9, and my doctor didnt know if my pregnancy would continue, so she put me on prometrium ASAP (i was on a pretty high does-3 pills a day) and it worked great. I now have a beautiful little boy."

Re: progesterone success stories
My levels dropped at around 6 weeks. I hadn't spotted but, I had a history of M/c. They worked for me! I know how scary it is when they put you on them. But, they do work if falling progesterone is a problem for you. Hang in there and relax. Easier said than done.

Re: progesterone success stories
My level was a 12 at around 6 weeks so the dr. put me on suppositories. I'm currently 36 weeks.

Re: progesterone success stories
My progesterone was on the low side in the first week after my BFP, I think 12, and that was while I was on progesterone supplements! Doctors like to see it above 15. I also spotted some brown the first few days.
They upped my progesterone (shots in the tush - OUCH!), and my levels shot up to about 50.
I'm 28 weeks, and the baby is fine

Re: progesterone success stories
My progesterone was at 12 at 7 weeks. I was put on suppositories for several weeks, then switched to prometrium. I'm 24 weeks now, and so far my baby is very healthy!

Re: progesterone success stories
mine was an 8 at 7dpo. It was checked at 7dpo bc i have a progesterone problem. (2 previous mc - nothing to do with prog though bc it was caught early) I was on endometrin 100mg 3x a day until 12 weeks. (i am now 17 weeks and all is thankfully great)
My progesterone fluctuated from a 14 to 18 with the suppositories. It was being delivered right to the source so the numbers werent very high. If u do injectables or pills ur numbers will be much much higher. If ur doing the suppositories dont freak out if the numbers come back in the teens. Good luck. Progesterone is one of the easiest things to be corrected.

Re: progesterone success stories
With DD#1, my progesterone was 10 after my BFP. I had a lot of spotting and cramping! I was put on the suppositories and took them until week 12. I carried my baby girl with no problems and delivered her at 35w6days. No worries!
