Progesterone Question....

I have been told that two or more days of spotting before AF could me low progesterone. But what about long spotting afterwards? I normally spot for a few days(2 or rarely 3 days) after AF but today is CD 11 and I am still spotting. I think this will make me O late??r.. Which is annoying because I have my first RE appointment on the 28th and I really wanted to go there with a fresh cycle starting. Now I may still be in the TWW.. Whatever..

But does anyone have any info on low progesterone? I had a m/c at 5 1/2 weeks in early October and I can't help but think that it is related to that.

Re: Progesterone Question....

The only way to know for sure is to get your progesterone tested at 7dpo.

AF starts because progesterone levels drop off from their post-ovulation levels. I am not sure about your spotting questions. I thought it was pretty normal to spot before AF actually starts.

Re: Progesterone Question....

Thanks.. I guess I will add that to the list of things for my RE to talk to me about.

Someone at work today suggested that I might have had a chemical that ended right around the time AF was due? I don't know if that is possible but it MIGHT explain 11 frickin days of AF (well not full AF but spotting) and the MONSTER cramps I had when I got AF.

I guess I will never know for sure. Chat Icon

It's possible that you had a chemical. You will def. want to have your RE check your progesterone during the TWW. If you have low progesterone, there are suppositories that can help. Best of luck at your appointment.

I am curious about this also. The last 3-4 periods have been lasting forever. I thought it was bc my wall was extra thick from producing more than one egg on Femara and Follistum.
