progesterone cause ovulation?

My doctor had me take 5 days of progesterone pills to bring on AF since I had not ovulated this cycle (going on CD48). I know that it helps build up the lining to be shed, but can it cause ovulation?? I ask because I have had an abundance of CM (sorry, TMI ) today. I normally do not get EWCM but I do get wet CM. My DH is not home to BD tonight just in case. Im just curious.

the prgesterone will not cause you to ovulate just get AF. your body may have ovulated on its own. clomid will help with ovulaition. i would take an OPK test today to see if you are.
