Probiotics for infants?

Does anyone use probiotics for their baby? My ped recommended it, but I never asked what kind or how much and I was just curious if anyone has had success using it. She seems to be getting a little gassy again and I'm wondering if it will help. She also has reflux and is on Zantac and Alimentum so her GI system is a mess already!!

there is a ton of great research out there on probiotics for babies and kids. we use primadophilus for kids (not sure of the spelling). you might have to find which works best for your kids.

i dont remember what the brand is, but if you go to a pharmacy and ask them, they have some probiotics for babies/kids in the back. i remember using them for my DS when he was on antibiotics.

We use Florastore for kids now when john is on anitibiotics.

Probiotics are great for infants and children!! Besides aiding in digestion, they also help strengthen the immune system. We used Udo's infant probiotic for a while, and just switched to Klaire Labs. They are both great, but Klaire is a more potent probiotic. I would go to Whole Foods or a health food store.

Thanks so much for the info! Going to stop by the health food store today to see what they have. Hoping it helps the gas spells and maybe even the reflux!!

We used Culturelle. When I was BFing I took the probiotic once a day. DS got it through BM. After I stopped nursing we emptied the capsule into his yogurt. you can also give it in a bottle but don't mix it with warm liquid. Not sure if it helped with the colic but I'm sure it was good for him.
