Probably a stupid question

Hi there ladies, sorry to be crashing (and under a fake name no less!) but I have a probably stupid question that is nonetheless making me very anxious and I figure that those on this board are probably the most knowledgeable about this kind of thing. As you can see from my user name I am NOT ttc right now - actually 6 months pp with twins after a long Ivf journey- so none of this is wishful thinking! I had a paragard iud placed in September and have had regular 28 day periods since. In early dec I had an ovarian cystecomy and a para tubal cystecomy laparoscopically. I have not gotten my period since - I am about 8 days late. I have taken a bunch of tests and all are negative. The only reason I am still thinking about this is that I know that while pg on paragard is rare if it does occur it is more likely to be ectopic. Plus, recent tubal surgery also increases risk if ectopic pg. Soooo should I just wait this out or call my ob? At this point even an ectopic would show up on a frer right? I made a lot of panicked phone calls to my ob office while pg and don't want them to think I am a nut, lol. So talk me off the ledge please so i dot have to ask them a stupid question.Tia!!

yes if you were pregnant you prob would get a + by now even if it was ectopic. i would guess the late cycle is due to the procedures you had earlier in the cycle. i wouldn't be terribly concerned if you are testing negative but you might want to place a call just to make sure its normal for the procedures to delay your cycle a bit.

i would call, it cant hurt. who really cares what they think of you - does it really matter? they are there to answer your question, not judge you. im sure youre not the first or last to call with a legitimate question!! good luck
